Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region are widely recognised as a highly skilled pool of expertise in the sector working for the benefit France and the rest of Europe.
This multi-disciplinary hub of excellence combines all the strengths of the cosmetics industry in the Rhône-Alpes region across both the public and private sectors.
- Quality teaching: an educational potential combining cosmetology and other high-level technical, scientific and managerial studies to suit the needs of modern industry.
- Cutting-edge research carried out initially by public-private partnerships (government research bodies, Universities, Hospitals) and on a more applied basis by industrialists.
Research is focused mainly on tissue engineering, physiology and skin biology, the development of new active ingredients, fine chemistry and the development of new textures.
- A diverse industrial fabric in the Rhône-Alpes region:
• raw materials and active cosmetic ingredients: lipochemicals, phytocosmetics, biotechnologies
• formulae, manufacturing
• firms specialising in skin biometrology
• packaging
